Permanent happy homes are the most vital component of what we do- Permanent placement through the adoption process is the happy ending we are dedicated to ensure for every animal that comes into our refuge. Without people like you efforts like ours would be in vain. It is always our pleasure to assist in the adoption process. Before we begin let me give a step-by-step overview of the ACARE adoption process:


1.) You complete & return the Application for Animal Adoption (AAA) to ACARE.
Within 48 hrs of receiving your completed AAA, ACARE will review your application forms and create a customized placement plan just for you based on your AAA information. In the event ACARE does not have an animal that matches your AAA available for adoption at the time of your approval, We will discuss other options. (available soon!) However, in most cases, we will have one to several adoption matches based on your AAA information.

2.) Now for the fun parts! You come to the ACARE refuge to meet the animals that match your AAA. You're welcome to spend as much time as you like watching, interacting with and getting to know each other. This is an important step for everyone involved. We are glad to answer any questions you may have. Please do not accept a match that you have doubts about, hesitation, or are unsure of. If you are not 95% sure please think about it, come back and spend more time getting to know each other. Sometimes, animal/applicant characteristics match but for one reason or another end up not being the perfect match in person. Thats okay! You are never obligated or expected to adopt an animal that isn't "the one" for you. We will continue to notify you when a new match is available. Your Approved status is valid for 6 months. Spending time at the refuge with companion animals that match your AAA request reduces likelihood that a "deal breaker" will surface after completing the adoption.

3.)Once you have fallen in love with one of our animals whose health and happiness requirements are compatible with your requests and lifestyle the adoption is finalized!
